Summer Book Club!

For many of us, the school year has wound down and now we find ourselves with time to spare and books at our fingertips! This month, we thought we’d do something special for our summer readers: a Scholastic Book Clubs Summer Book Club!

Now here’s the fun part: You get to join in on the fun! Each week, the book we read will increase in difficulty. You can read them on your own, with your child, or have your child read it and tell you what he or she thinks! We’ll all get together on Fridays (beginning this Friday, July 8th) and discuss the books—what we like about them, what we hated, what we can’t wait to pass along to other readers. We’ll be reading and re-reading some classics that we just haven’t had the chance to pick up this year. Here is the schedule for the full month:

Friday, July 8: LMNO Peas by Keith Baker

Friday, July 15: Frog and Toad Are Friends by Arnold Lobel

Friday, July 22: Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne

Friday, July 29: The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

So this week we’re reading LMNO Peas by Keith Baker (which is a truly adorable book) and we’ll be talking about it on July 8. Join in on the fun!
