Endangered by Eliot Schrefer is one of the best novels to come out this year (if you don’t believe me, just ask his National Book Award nomination!). The book follows Sophie, who has been relocated by her mother to a sanctuary for bonobos in Congo. She’s not excited about the prospect—bonobos are her mother’s passion, not Sophie’s. However, when the sanctuary is attacked during a revolution, Sophie is put in the position of rescuer! She and the bonobos head out into the jungle to survive—and they’ll have to do it together.
We were lucky enough to have Eliot swing by to answer some questions for us about bonobos, Congo, writing, and everything in between. Check out the video below to learn more about this keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat read.
Endangered is available on TAB November!
