Award-winning author/illustrator Tedd Arnold just released a brand-new nonfiction series starring my two favorite characters, Buzz and Fly Guy! In the first book of the series, Fly Guy Presents: Sharks, Buzz and Fly Guy get up close and personal with real-life sharks at the aquarium!
I fell in love with this new reader the very moment I picked it up. The cover art combines a real-life shark photo with a new, fun Fly Guy illustration. I love that some pages of the book are designed like Buzz’s notebook—filled with funny illustrations, engaging nonfiction photos, and scientific vocabulary words perfect for young readers. Plus I learned so much about sharks I didn’t know before! I can’t wait for the new reader, Fly Guy Presents: Space, coming out next fall!
Here is what our staff is staying about the new nonfiction series:
“The book is so fun, yet so informative. I think kids will really learn a lot from the new readers.”—Naama, SeeSaw Book Club Designer
“I love how the new reader is designed like Buzz’s notebook. The pages are illustrated, but it looks like a real notebook that kids would carry around on a field trip.”—Dana, Marketing Manager
“Tedd Arnold is so much fun to work with! And he’s thrilled that Fly Guy has branched out into the nonfiction genre. Tedd loves sharks almost as much as he loves Buzz and Fly Guy! And you’ll soon discover how much he loves outer space too, when Fly Guy Presents: Space comes out next fall.”—Katie, Fly Guy Presents Editor
“Beginning readers will form an instant friendship with Buzz and Fly Guy as they take a trip to the aquarium and learn how to overcome Fly Guy’s fear of sharks!”—Kate, SeeSaw Book Club Editor and former first grade teacher
It’s filled with discussion questions, a color page, and a fact-filled poster! Plus enter the “Where Should FLY GUY Go Next?” Art Contest for a chance to win your own classroom science field trip!
