Goosebumps, The Baby-Sitters Club, The Magic School Bus, I SPY…oh my!

Happy July! The summer is heating up, figuratively and literally, which got us thinking…On the days when sizzling summer temperatures or even summer showers drive you indoors, consider spending time with some of your favorite Scholastic book series on Netflix!

We’re so excited to share the news that Scholastic’s most beloved TV series, inspired the most popular books, are now available on Netflix for your home viewing! From I SPY, The Magic School Bus, Goosebumps, The Baby-sitters Club and more, you can watch on-screen adaptations of books that may be on your children’s reading lists during the school year.

Books have inspired many on-screen adaptations, which always make for great conversation. TV shows based on books offer another way to engage with the characters and stories. So, this summer, fall in love all over again with some of your favorite characters. Start your summer queue with these beloved Scholastic favorites!

The Magic School Bus: Join Ms. Frizzle and class and take a closer look at science with zany and adventurous class field trips!

Goosebumps: Based on fright-master R.L. Stine’s best-selling books, Goosebumps offers spine-tingling stories of regular kids in extraordinarily spooky situations.

The Baby-Sitters Club: Follow seven best friends as they run a highly organized baby-sitting service in Stoneybrook, Connecticut in this on-screen adaptation of Ann Martin’s book series.

I SPY: Based on the books by Jean Marzollo and Walter Wick, I SPY is a play-along adventure for kids.

Dear America: Draw inspiration from the stories of fictional teenage women during key turning points in American history.

Dragon: Inspired by the book series by Dav Pilkey, best-selling author of Captain Underpants, Dragon explores social-emotional themes like friendship and being afraid.

Turbo Dogs: Inspired by Racer Dogs by Bob Kolar, follow the hilarious antics of a group of wacky dogs and their adventures that are chock full of racing action and hijinks.

Horrible Histories: Learn the unusual, gory and unpleasant yet true facts about different time periods in an animated series based on the books by Terry Dreary.

Sammy’s Story Shop: Watch Sammy and his friends Sharlene and Wiggy cook up stories from beloved and popular picture books!
