It’s Time to Play Ball!

This is the week when the entire baseball season lies ahead of us. Fans and casual observers make predictions about what the coming months will hold—predictions that can be full of hope or caution. And traditions and superstitions are hauled out and warmed in the spring sunshine (or washed off in the spring showers!).

Traditions might revolve around where to watch the games, what to wear, what to eat, or how to follow the action. Some families might kick off the season with a rousing rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” others might require a backyard cookout while they listen to their team on the radio, and still others might start the season by reading the poem “Casey at the Bat.”

What about starting off the baseball season by picking up a book about America’s pastime and reading it together as family? We think that would make a great tradition! Happy reading—and PLAY BALL!
