Happy Mother’s Day!

Our moms nurture us, love us, nag us, and hug us—and this Sunday we take a step back and say a big thank-you for everything they do to make us happy. We thank them for all the advice they’ve given and continue to give us, for all the worrying they do for us, and for all the times they’ve tucked us in to bed and read us a story. We love you, moms!

What better way to recognize our magnificent mothers than by reading stories about them? Here are a handful of books featuring our favorite literary mothers!

Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney

Little Critter: Just Me and My Mom by Mercer Mayer

Chicken Sunday by Patricia Polacco

Ramona and her Mother by Beverly Cleary

Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan

Happy Mother’s Day! What book will you share with your mom (or mother or maman or abuela or auntie) on Sunday?
